Save Barclays Codsall Branch

Codsall Barclays paint graphic

Barclays has announced plans to close its Codsall branch, leaving our community without a vital local banking service.

For many residents – especially older people, those with disabilities, and anyone who struggles with digital banking – face-to-face support is not a luxury, it’s a necessity. Local traders and small businesses also rely on in-person banking to manage cash and keep their operations running.

If this closure goes ahead, customers will be forced to travel several miles to Wolverhampton or Stafford, an unreasonable barrier for those without transport and an added cost to businesses already under pressure.

We believe Codsall deserves to keep its branch, and we are urging Barclays to think again.

Please add your name to this petition to show the strength of local opposition. Together we can send a clear message: don’t abandon Codsall – protect access to banking for everyone.

Save Barclays Codsall From Closure

I agree that the Barclays Bank Branch in Codsall should be saved.

The petition of residents of Codsall, South Staffordshire,

Declares that the Barclays Bank branch in Codsall provides a vital service for local residents and businesses; further declares that its closure would leave many people—particularly elderly residents, those with disabilities, and local traders—without reasonable access to in-person banking facilities; further notes that access to cash and face-to-face banking is essential for financial inclusion and community wellbeing.

The petitioners therefore request that the House of Commons urges Barclays to reconsider its decision to close the Codsall branch, and calls on the Government and the Financial Conduct Authority to take steps to ensure that communities are not left without essential banking services.

And the petitioners remain, etc.

I would like to be kept up-to-date by the Conservatives on future issues that matter to me:
