I was very pleased to meet with the team from National Express West Midlands to discuss bus provision across Kingswinford and South Staffordshire. Reliable and accessible public transport is vital for connecting residents to work, education, healthcare, and local services, and it’s an issue that continues to be raised with me by many constituents.
A number of residents, particularly those living in our more rural communities, have shared concerns about the frequency, reliability, and coverage of current bus services. It was therefore encouraging to have a constructive and open discussion about how these challenges can be addressed and where improvements may be possible.
We focused in particular on several key routes that are of significant importance to local people, including Route 9, Route 10, Route 16, and Route 226. These services play a crucial role in linking communities, and I made sure to relay the feedback and experiences that residents have shared with me.
I will continue to work closely with operators and stakeholders to ensure that the needs of our communities are heard and that we see meaningful improvements to local transport provision.
