Earlier this month, I met with a group of parents from Wombourne High School who told me about the impact that strike action at the school was having on their children.
Parents told me they are worried that missed learning could impact their children’s chances of getting into their chosen sixth form after GCSEs.
As a parent, I know how important this transition is — and young people’s futures should not be affected by circumstances outside their control.
That’s why I’ve contacted local colleges and sixth forms across Dudley, Wolverhampton and South Staffordshire to make the case for every child, and ask that the schools & colleges take this into consideration as part of their admissions process.
I wanted to share with you today an example of these letters, written to the Headteacher of King Edward VI Sixth Form College in Stourbridge, which I know is a popular choice for many school leavers from Kinver High School & Wombourne High School.
