It was a privilege to be invited to take part in another Remembrance Assembly at Summerhill School in Kingswinford. This annual event continues to be one of the most meaningful occasions in the school calendar, providing an opportunity for pupils, staff, and guests to come together in reflection.
Each year, the Summerhill School Community manages to uncover a new and thought-provoking theme to explore. The creativity and respect shown in every presentation ensure that Remembrance is never taken for granted — instead, it remains a living act of reflection that connects the past with the present.
Today’s assembly was no exception, creating an atmosphere of dignity and remembrance, encouraging everyone to pause and think about the sacrifices made by so many in times of conflict.
Thank you to all the pupils and staff who worked tirelessly to produce such a professional, informative, and moving event. From the thoughtful artwork to the carefully chosen words shared throughout the assembly, every detail reflected the school’s deep respect for this important occasion.
Special thanks to Mr Mike Glattback, for the kind invitation to be part of such a poignant event. It was a privilege to stand alongside the Summerhill community in remembering those who have served and sacrificed, and to witness once again the school’s commitment to honouring their legacy with both sincerity and creativity.
